Services

  • Business diagnostic

A fixed-scope review of finances, operations, people and market that ends in a ranked list of what to fix first.

  • Operations and process improvement

Mapped workflows, measured rework and written procedures, so the same work takes fewer hours and fewer mistakes.

  • Financial clarity: cash flow, margins and KPIs

A rolling cash forecast, true margins by service line and a short KPI scorecard the owner actually reads.

  • Organisation and roles

A clear structure, written accountabilities and decision rights, so work stops routing through the owner.

  • Growth strategy

Evidence-based choices on pricing, customer segments, channels and capacity, with the numbers behind each one.

  • Implementation support

A monthly steering cadence that turns the agreed recommendations into finished work, tracked against milestones.

How it works

  1. Describe the business in a few lines

Your sector, headcount, rough revenue band and the issue that worries you most. A short text to (604) 632-4959 is a perfectly good start.

  2. Free initial consultation

A 30-minute conversation, by phone, video call or in person, to decide whether a diagnostic, a defined project or a few advisory hours is the right first step.

  3. A written scope before any work

You receive the engagement model, deliverables, milestones and price in writing, and you decide. Call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist.

BusinessConsultingService.ca is a full-service consulting firm for established Canadian small and mid-sized businesses. We start with a structured diagnostic of the whole business, agree on the two or three changes that matter most, and then stay involved through operations, finance, organisation and growth work until those changes are running. You always know which engagement model you are in, what it costs and what you will receive.

What a full-service consulting firm does for an SMB

A full-service firm looks at the business as one system rather than solving one symptom in isolation. Late invoices, an overloaded owner and thin margins are often the same problem seen from three angles, and fixing one without the others rarely holds.

Our work covers six connected areas:

You can engage us for one area or several. The services overview explains how to choose.

How an engagement runs, from diagnostic to implementation

Every engagement follows the same four phases, so you are never unsure where you stand.

  1. Discover. We read your financial statements, sales data and job or order records, and interview the owner and key staff. Nothing is concluded yet.
  2. Diagnose. We quantify what we found: where cash is tied up, which services lose money after direct costs, where hours are lost to rework, and which decisions are stuck with one person.
  3. Design. We agree with you on the few changes worth making first, each with an owner, a measure and a date.
  4. Deliver. Either your team carries the plan with periodic check-ins, or we stay on a retainer to steer it month by month.

The diagnostic itself usually produces three deliverables: a findings report, a priority matrix ranking each issue by financial impact and effort, and a 90-day action plan. Those documents belong to you, whether or not you continue with us.

A worked example of what "financial clarity" means

Clarity usually starts with one uncomfortable number. Picture a hypothetical 25-person company billing $3.2 million a year that believes its gross margin is 34%.

When direct labour is loaded properly (wages plus the employer-side costs your bookkeeper confirms) and assigned to each service line, the picture changes. One line, carrying $900,000 of revenue, turns out to earn 9% after direct costs, while the other two earn 41% and 38%. Overhead of $780,000 is being carried almost entirely by the two healthy lines.

Repricing the weak line by 8%, or redesigning how it is delivered, is worth roughly $72,000 a year before any growth effort. That is why we look at margins before we talk about marketing or hiring. The method is laid out step by step in our guide to margin by service line.

Clear engagement models, written down before any work

Each engagement uses one of four models from the Sedighi.ca consulting price list, and you see which one applies before anything starts.

Model Price (CAD) Typical use
Hourly consulting $175–$350 per hour A second opinion, a board pack review, a single decision
Project $3,500–$25,000 per project A diagnostic, a cash forecast build, a process redesign
Monthly retainer $2,500–$12,000 per month Implementation support and ongoing advisory
Growth Partner Program Custom A performance-based partnership in which Ali puts in time first and is paid from measured results. Limited partnerships available

Each figure is before sales tax, which is added as GST/HST based on your province (GST and QST in Quebec). The pricing page explains what moves a project up or down that range.

Who leads the work

Every engagement is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA in Technology Management, who has built and run businesses since he founded the digital agency ONE.ir in 2007. He is the founder of Conv.ca and MyAutomation.ca, and Founder and Managing Partner of SAZ.ca, with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai.

BusinessConsultingService.ca belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and works with owners in every province and territory. Our parent consulting brands are Sedighi.ca and BusinessConsulting.ca. More on our approach is on the about page.

What we will not claim

We will not promise a revenue figure, and we do not publish client quotes or ratings. What we can show is documented work: results from our HVAC work, such as HVACDeal.ca generating 500+ leads at a 12:1 ROI, and the gas-boiler division built for CANRO Heat as GasBoilers.ca. The results page explains what those projects demonstrate about method, and what they do not prove about your sector.

Start with a short message

The quickest start is a text or a call to (604) 632-4959, or an email to Ali@Sedighi.ca, with your sector, your city and the one issue you most want solved. We reply, usually within one business day, to arrange the free initial consultation by phone, video call or in person. See contact for what to include, or browse the areas we serve.

Frequently asked questions

What is BusinessConsultingService.ca?

It is a Canadian consulting firm for owner-led SMBs that belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group. We are based in Vancouver, BC, every engagement is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA, and the work runs in stages from an initial diagnostic through to implementation.

Where do engagements usually start?

Most start with a business diagnostic, because it shows which problem is actually costing the most. If you already know the problem precisely, we can scope a single project, such as a cash forecast or a process redesign, without the diagnostic.

Do you meet clients in person or online?

Both. Working sessions are held online by video call or in person, and day-to-day contact happens by phone, text and email. Owners anywhere in Canada work with us this way.

How is the work priced?

Hourly consulting is $175 to $350 per hour, defined projects run $3,500 to $25,000, and monthly retainers run $2,500 to $12,000, in Canadian dollars plus GST/HST based on your province (GST and QST in Quebec). The initial 30-minute consultation is free.

Are you accountants or lawyers?

No. We are business consultants. We build forecasts, margin models and KPI scorecards for management decisions, but bookkeeping, tax filings, legal agreements and employment-law questions stay with your CPA and lawyer, and we work alongside them.

Is there a long-term contract?

No lock-in. Projects end when their deliverables are accepted, and the terms of any retainer, including notice, are set out in writing in your proposal before you sign.
