BusinessConsultingService.ca is a Canadian business consulting service and one of the consulting brands in the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group. We run complete engagements for owner-led small and mid-sized businesses: a diagnostic of the whole company, focused improvement work on operations, finance, structure and growth, and steering support until the changes hold. The firm is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and works with clients in all ten provinces and three territories.
Why the firm exists
Most owners we meet have already had advice, just not joined-up advice. An accountant looked at the statements, a marketing agency looked at the website, and a friend who runs a bigger company offered opinions on hiring. Each view was reasonable, and none of them explained why the business still felt stuck.
A full-service consulting firm is useful when the problem crosses those lines. Cash, margin, process and structure are connected, so we review them together and then decide, with the owner, which single change will move the most money or time. The six areas we work in are described on the services page.
How an engagement is run
Every engagement follows four phases, and you always know which one you are in.
- Discover. We read the documents that already exist (statements, ageing reports, job or order data, any organisation chart) and interview the owner and a few key people.
- Diagnose. We turn observations into numbers: days of cash tied up in receivables, margin by service line, hours lost to rework, decisions waiting on one desk.
- Design. We agree a short list of changes, each with an owner, a measure, a starting value and a date.
- Deliver. Your team carries the work, either on its own with periodic check-ins or with us steering monthly through implementation support.
The phases are the same whether the engagement is a single business diagnostic or a year of connected projects.
Principles we hold ourselves to
A few working rules shape every engagement, and you can hold us to them.
- Numbers before opinions. A recommendation without a measured starting point is a preference. Where data is missing, we say so and estimate openly.
- You keep every deliverable. Reports, spreadsheets, forecasts, process maps and role outlines belong to the client, in editable formats, whether or not the engagement continues.
- One senior lead. The person who asks the questions in the first interview is the person who presents the findings.
- Few priorities at a time. A business with 20 people can absorb two serious changes in a quarter, not eight.
- Scope and price in writing first. Nothing is billed until you have accepted a written proposal.
Ali Sedighi, MBA
Ali Sedighi leads BusinessConsultingService.ca. He holds an MBA in Technology Management and has more than 17 years of experience building and advising businesses, starting in 2007, when he founded ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency.
Later ventures include two companies he founded, Conv.ca (conversion-rate optimisation) and MyAutomation.ca, and SAZ.ca, where he serves as Founder and Managing Partner. His clients have included businesses in Canada, the USA and Dubai, and his teams have built more than 150 live HVAC websites. He lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.
That mix matters for consulting work. Running agencies means payroll, receivables, pricing and hiring decisions made with real money, which is the ground most SMB owners stand on.
The group behind the firm
BusinessConsultingService.ca is one brand within the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies. Sedighi.ca is Ali's growth, marketing and technology consulting company, whose brands include BusinessConsulting.ca. SAZ.ca, the Strategy & Acceleration Zone, is the group's firm for strategy, AI and revenue acceleration.
When an owner's question turns to selling the company, valuation or succession, the group's business-sale and exit brand, BizSell.ca, works alongside Sedighi.ca on that stage.
Where our advice stops
We are business consultants. We build management forecasts, margin models, scorecards, process maps and organisation designs to support decisions. We do not prepare tax returns, keep books, draft contracts, give employment-law or securities advice, arrange lending, or offer engineering services.
In practice, that means your CPA confirms payroll burden rates and tax timing in our cash models, and your lawyer reviews any role change that touches an employment agreement. We are glad to work directly with both.
How to reach us
Text or call (604) 632-4959, or email Ali@Sedighi.ca, with your sector, your city and the issue you want solved. Consultations happen online by video call or in person, and the initial 30-minute conversation is free. See contact for what to include, pricing for the engagement models, or the results page for documented work.
Frequently asked questions
Who will actually work on our engagement?
Ali Sedighi leads every engagement personally, from the first conversation to the final findings session. If specialist help is needed for a specific piece of work, that is named in your proposal before you sign.
Is BusinessConsultingService.ca part of a larger group?
Yes. The firm sits within the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies, whose head office is in Vancouver, British Columbia. Sedighi.ca is Ali's growth, marketing and technology consulting company, and SAZ.ca is the group's strategy, AI and revenue acceleration firm.
What will you not advise on?
We do not provide accounting, tax, legal, lending, securities or engineering services. When a question belongs with a CPA, a lawyer or a licensed lender, we say so and work alongside that professional instead of guessing.
Do you work only with HVAC companies?
No. Ali's longest track record is with heating and HVAC businesses, which is why our published results come from that work, but this firm's engagements are for owner-led SMBs in any sector where the method applies.
